Monument record TR 04 SW 98 - Tannery, Tannery Lane, Ashford

Summary

A Tannery was located at the end of Tannery lane next to the Great Stour in Ashford. The pits and buildings are marked on the OS 1st ed. map of 1868 and the subsequent Ordnance survey historic maps. It is not clear if any of the building now remains. Former site of listed building. Main construction periods 1833 to 1866. Mid 19th century tannery. The two storey building is weatherboarded, with a half hipped roof. Converted to a warehouse in the 20th century.
