Summary

The brewery was established in 1801 and was acquired by the Ramsgate Brewery business Tomson and Wotton in 1876. It ceased brewing after World War I. The maltings and oasts are extant and date to the mid 19th century and are constructed of brick with a slate roof. The main range is of two storeys and has a large weatherboarded hoist housing with barge-boarded gable, on long brackets. The two square plain oasts have two segmentally headed openings high on each elevation and brick dentil eaves cornice. The building is now in use as a now depository. The brewery also has a three storey water tower with a cast iron tank which is flanked by a two storey range to the northwest and southeast. The latter has been heavily modified and in use as garage premises.
