Abstract/Summary
The Grotto is one of a series of post medieval features within the landscaped grounds of Ingress Abbey, Greenhithe, Kent. Also known in later reports as the Flint Cave. A single evaluation trench at the front of the structure revealed the original floor of the Grotto, buried under deep backfill deposits and that the Grotto would have had much more of an enclosed entrance.
