Abstract/Summary
A report detailing the results of a 38 trench evaluation by Canterbury Archaeological Trust. The trenches revealed evidence of multi-phase prehistoric occupation dating from the Late Neolithic to the Bronze Age. Three ditches were also dated to the Late Iron Age/ Romano-British period and were interpreted as being part of an abandoned hollow way which had survived as a visible linear embanked earthwork. On the basis of the results it was concluded that the Mid-Late Bronze Age settlement evidence discovered south of the site, at Kemsley Fields, extended north into the present development area.
