Abstract/Summary

Final report for the 2001 excavation works at Hartsdown College. The features revealed during the excavation works are now considered to be iron age, the inhumation to have been placed in a pit cutting one of the enclosure ditches and the other pit to have contained ritually deposited items. The investigations took place ahead of the construction of a new Sports Hall and Science Block for the college. See also Heritage 2002/19, archaeological assessment and updated project design.
