Date/Year | 1999 |
Abstract/Summary
Single linear evaluation trench dug at sometime in 1998 in area Zone 4 of the Channel Tunnel Railway. The evaluation found several small pits or postholes, and ditches. One pit and ditch contained burnt unworked flint and possibly medieval pottery. The ditches and two possible marl pits, or quarries, suggest that the land was cultivated and enclosed from prehistoric times onwards.
