---|---|
Author/Originator | A.J. Daniels |
Date/Year | 2005 |
Abstract/Summary
This watching brief monitored two areas. In the area of footpath construction to the west side of Beresford Hill, no archaeological finds or features were observed. Post 1900 pottery, brick and slate fragments were identified in the top soil. Where excavations at the back of Bessies Cottage were monitored, two in situ ragstone blocks were recorded, which may have formed part of a revetment to the base of the embankment of the iron age camp (to the south west).
