Abstract/Summary
An archaeological evaluation undertaken on two trenches excavted in the front lawn of Sissinghurst Castle. A modern demolition deposit was uncovered in one trench. A post medieval deposit was present in both trenches, possibly relating to road levelling works. No evidence was found for buildings indicated on the 18th century maps.
