Abstract/Summary
The report documents an assessment of historic significance for Bockingford Farmhouse, Maidstone. Bockingford Farmhouse is a grade II listed, 19th century farmhouse situated in Tovil. The house is a red brick house laid in Flemish bond with grey headers arranged over two storeys with a parapet to the front of the house. Cultural and aesthetic significance has been greatly reduced due to residential development immediately surrounding the property. Although the house remains largely as per its original 19th century construction more recent additions were made to the rear of the site. No further archaeological research is recommended. The report details a proposed scheme for an adjacent site, which will impact positively on the farmhouse.
