Title | Calehill Cottage, Calehill Park, Little Chart, Kent, Archaeological Watching Brief Summary Report |
---|---|
Author/Originator | Canterbury Archaeological Trust |
Date/Year | 2014 |
Abstract/Summary
Throughout the entire monitoring process, only limited finds of early-mid twentieth-century date were encountered, consisting of several small fragments of glazed and unglazed pottery and clay pipe stem fragments, were retrieved, but not retained.
Despite the lack of archaeological material from this site, its location situated approximately 200 northwest of the site of post medieval Calehill House, one of the lost country houses of Kent, and within 50m north of the supposed remains of the medieval house of Calehill would suggest the surrounding areas retain a strong archaeological potential.
