Abstract/Summary
The report documents the results of a desk-based assessment of farmland of Haine road, Ramsgate. The area is proposed for development. The assessment considered information available from the Kent Historic Environment Record, aerial photographs and cartographic evidence together with a site visit. The assessment identified no Scheduled Ancient Monuments of designated archaeological sites on the study sites. The site is likely to contain evidence of prehistoric ceremonial burial monuments, Saxon burials and a medieval enclosure; there is also a moderate to good potential for evidence of Bronze Age, Iron Age, Roman, and Saxon settlement evidence. Any development could have an impact on the potential buried archaeology. Further evaluation of the site is recommended in order to establish the extent of buried archaeological remains.
