Abstract/Summary
This report documents the results of an archaeological recording action carried out at 1-7 Cowgate Hill, Dover, Kent. The fieldwork has removed overburden to expose the top of archaeological deposits on the site. These appear to comprise a mixture of Roman, postmedieval
and modern features, with the Roman deposits represented by chalk walls likely to be a part of the Roman fort. This fieldwork has provided information to enable a foundation design to be finalized which will preserve these archaeological deposits in-situ.
