---|---|
Author/Originator | Royal Engineers |
Date/Year | 1879 |
Abstract/Summary
Hand-tinted elevation and plans of the Married Soldiers Quarters at the Grand Shaft Barracks at Western Heights. Created as a record drawing. The drawings include some measurements and there is a short descriptive note on the construction and materials used. There is also a note of the dates of authorisation, commencement and completion, the estimated and actual costs and the space provided. The original plan was drawn up in 1879 but was revised in red ink on 20th Apr 1904 and 8th Oct 1910. The earlier revisions are a paler shade of red and show the drainage systems, doors and some changes in use. These later revisions are a darker red and indicate further changes to the layout.
