Abstract/Summary
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken on the 2nd of November 2016 at Sponden Farm House, Sponden Lane, Sandhurst, Kent, in advance of the construction of a two storey rear extension and alterations to the existing dwelling. The stratigraphy encountered on Site was simple, with a deposit of silty topsoil, located directly above a natural deposit, a yellow to orange sandy silt of Tunbridge Wells formation bedrock. Only one feature of archaeological interest was recorded, a post-hole, which contained a Late Post-Medieval (LPM c. 1750-1900+) brick, potsherds and metal work.
