Report on an archaeological watching brief on land of approximately 0.15ha at the site of 3, 4 and 5 Maplescombe Farm Cottages, Farningham, Kent. The watching brief was undertaken on ground works associated with the new development at the site following the demolition of existing farm cottages, and monitored ground reduction of an earthen bank to the east of Maplescombe Lane and two test pits in the centre of the site to assess underlying deposits. No archaeological features were identified during the course of the watching brief. Finds comprised a single rolled rim sherd of Early Neolithic pottery, broken in two, which was recoeverd from a colluvial layer during the reduction of the earthen bank.
