Source/Archive record (Unpublished document) SKE51840 - Archaeological test pitting at 37 Crown Gardens, Canterbury, Kent
Title | Archaeological test pitting at 37 Crown Gardens, Canterbury, Kent |
---|---|
Author/Originator | Canterbury Archaeological Trust |
Date/Year | 2010 |
Abstract/Summary
Report on two archaeological test pits that were excavated at 37 Crown Gardens in 2010 prior to the extension of the property. No Roman remains were identified during the test pitting, which revealed a series of metalled surfaces probably relating to the now demolished Westgate Court Farm visible on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map. It is possible that Roman remains exist below these surfaces however as the area appeared to have been raised substantially in preparation for the houses there today.
