Title Kingston Down Anglo-Saxon cemetery, Kingston: Evaluation report
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2013

Abstract/Summary

Between the 18 and 22 March 2013, the Canterbury Archaeological Trust (CAT) undertook the excavation of six archaeological evaluation trenches on Kingston Down, Kingston, Kent. Of the six excavated trenches, only two revealed evidence of significant archaeological intervention, one of which has the potential to be a grave (TP 4) with the other a large indeterminate feature, the full extent of which was not uncovered (TP 3). Though dating evidence was very limited, restricted to un-stratified material largely from the covering plough soil, several struck flint flakes were retrieved from the upper fill of each feature.
