A Design, access and heritage statement was drawn up in 2015 in support of a proposal to convert the interior of the former concert hall, cinema and bingo hall. Arts Architecture International (AAI) were appointed to explore a number of design options for the site. These explored development of both the site of the Regent itself and also what could be achieved if the development extended onto the adjacent surface car park.
