Abstract/Summary
Results of an archaeological Strip Map and Sample excavation on land adjacent to the Royal Sea Bathing Hospital, Canterbury Road, Margate, Kent. Four archaeological features were identified during the excavation phase. The earliest activity comprised a substantial ditch from which a significant assemblage of mid Bronze Age to early Iron
Age pottery sherds and struck flints of late Neolithic/early Bronze Age date were recovered. A contemporary pit was also identified. A further pit and a post-hole were also identified during the investigation, but no dateable artefacts were recovered from their fills.
