Abstract/Summary
BL25220/012 A photographic copy of a handwritten note on Post Office Telegraph headed paper, describing the sinking of HMS Tyne This photograph was taken in the offices of the Morning Post. HMS Tyne (formerly SS Mariotis) was constructed in 1878 and served as a troopship before conversion to a "destroyer depot ship" in 1907. In 1920 she sunk at her moorings in the Medway following a collision. See also BL25220/015, BL25220/021 & BL25220/031.
