Title Heritage Statement In Advance Of The 2019 Refurbishment At Ursuline College, 225 Canterbury Road, Westgate-on-sea, Kent
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2020

Abstract/Summary

Report on a heritage assessment of Ursuline College, 225 Canterbury Road, Westgate-on-sea, carried out in 2020. The proposed area for development is associated with two Grade II Listed buildings, one of which is situated within the site boundary. This building is Hatton House or Ursuline Convent School, constructed in 1886 alongside The Lodge (gatehouse), and a now demolished stables and coachhouse. The settings of existing heritage assets at the site have been altered and eroded by recent developments associated with the school at the site, therefore, the proposed development is considered to have positive benefits which will outweigh the harm to existing heritage assets.
