Author/Originator | Canterbury Archaeological Trust |
Date/Year | 2004 |
Abstract/Summary
The project revealed medieval activity beneath the modern property. Excavations uncovered four probable 13th-century rubbish or cesspits cut into clean beach sand, possibly deposited during historic storm events. Pottery dated between AD 1250–1325, including imported wares, was recovered. A compact pebble surface suggests a former yard or hardstanding.
