Abstract/Summary

Direct pedological and palaeoecological evidence from below barrows at West Colliford in the St Neot valley supports the theory that brown soils existed in pre-Bronze Age times in SW England at a site which subsequently developed an iron pan and accumulated strongly acid peat.
