Abstract/Summary
Features and finds found during digging of water pipe. A number of features, ditch, pit and possible post-hole were found containing numerous pottery sherds ranging from the 1st to 3rd C AD. The pottery found included fragments of Samian ware and a large piece of Dressel 20 amphora. Animal bones and the shells of limpets, periwinkle and oyster were also found.
Evidence of eariler occupation was also found. Late neolithic or early Brone Age struck flint flakes were found in the same general area. See TR 34 NE 230. (1)
