Author/Originator | Canterbury Archaeological Trust |
Date/Year | 1995 |
Abstract/Summary
A watching brief in 1995 noted in situ ragstone walling on the terraced area on the south side of the platform; an open rectangle circa 1.5m square of uncertain purpose but suggested not to be a revetment or defensive wall. It has been interpreted as medieval in origin. The causeway at the north west corner was interpreted as a modern addition and it was noted that the moat had been recut as recently as 19th century.
