Abstract/Summary
Four test pits were excavated at St Peters. Two were located to the north of the church and revealed the natural silt substrate cut by modern pits and overlain by rubble. Two pits were excavated within the transept of the church. The western most TP3 revealed evidence for a medieval structure running east-west which had been constructed over a ditch running north-south which contained animal bone and flint artefacts of probable Bronze Age date. The easternmost TP4 revealed the east face of a medieval structure, probably a wall running north-south with a compact earth surface to the east.
