Description

TQ 67 41 BRENCHLEY HIGH STREET, BRENCHLEY (south side) 15/108 Edward Down headstone about 13m south of the south transept of the Church of All Saints GV II Headstone. Late C17. Freestone. Shouldered headstone with a rounded head and plain border. Inscription in capital letters, the words overrunning the lines, commemorates Edward Down, died 1670. An example of an early headstone in an outstanding churchyard. Listing NGR: TQ6797441687
