Description

TQ 64 SW CAPEL CHURCH LANE 5/224 Illegible chest tomb approx 9m east of the chancel of the Church of St Thomas A Becket GV II Chest tomb. Dated 1768. Chest tomb with English bond red brick walls except the east end which is a sandstone plaque. The sandstone flat lid has square sides except the east end where it projects further and is soffit-chamfered. The east end plaque is inscribed in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering. It is barely legible. It records the death of (Eliz)abeth, wife of Rich(ard) (?)dden, in 1768. Listing NGR: TQ6382444536
