TQ 64 SW CAPEL CHURCH LANE
5/224 Illegible chest tomb approx 9m east of the chancel of the Church of St Thomas A Becket GV II
Chest tomb. Dated 1768. Chest tomb with English bond red brick walls except the east end which is a sandstone plaque. The sandstone flat lid has square sides except the east end where it projects further and is soffit-chamfered. The east end plaque is inscribed in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering. It is barely legible. It records the death of (Eliz)abeth, wife of Rich(ard) (?)dden, in 1768.
