"Queen Elizabeth's Pocket Pistol" TR 3241 1/95
II
A C16 Flemish cannon set on a C19 gun carriage and embedded in a plinth of paving stones. The gun is of bronze having the most elaborate and o~amental Renaissarce motifs. The gun carriage was constructed by the Duke of Wellington in 1821 and has the Royal Arms and shell, dolphin and Tudor rose motifs. The wheels have spokes in the form of fasoes with fleurs de lye inside the rim and lions headi decorating the axles.
