From the Register of Scheduled Monuments:
Site of Mill belonging to Abbot of St Augustines and sluice in Mill Lane. Mill late 18th century - two cast iron pillars survive with decorated caps. Also cast iron wheel shaft and bearings in situ. This is the 1975 mill built by Smeaton - an important Industrial monument on an important early medieval site. The final Mill was burnt down in 1933. The cast iron wheel shaft and two cast iron pillars are still in position. The sluice has twin stone arches.
