Description

TR 05 NW BOUGHTON BRENLEY 4/53 Brenley Farmhouse 24.1.67 GV II House. C17 and C18, extended mid C19 and mid C20. Red brick and plain tiled roof.Main range of 2 storeys and attic on plinth with moulded eaves cornice to roof which has 3 hipped dormers and stacks to left and to right. Five sashes on first floor, 4 with segmental heads as ground floor, and central door of 6 panels, the top 2 glazed, with open pediment on brackets, and flight of 4 steps. Left: C17 wing rebuilt C19 and C20, 2 storeys with 2 gabled wooden casements breaking eaves line on first floor, and 1 wooden casement and raking porch with canted bay to right on ground floor. Interior: exposed frame and moulded ceiling joists in C17 wing. The house and farm buildings were part of a complex attached to a large C16/C17 mansion house demolished 1938.
