Listed Building record TR 05 NW 122 - BRENLEY FARMHOUSE
Summary
17th and 18th century farmhouse, extended mid 19th century and mid 20th century. Red brick and plain tiled roof. Main range of 2 storeys and attic on plinth with moulded eave cornice to roof which has 3 hipped dormers and stacks to left and to right. Five sashes on first floor, 4 with segmental heads as ground floor, and central door of 6 panels, the top 2 glazed, with open pediment on brackets, and flight of 4 steps. Left: 17th century wing rebuilt 19th and 20th century, 2 storeys with 2 gabled wooden casements breaking eaves line on first floor, and 1 wooden casement and raking porch with canted bay to right on ground floor. Interior: exposed frame and moulded ceiling joists in 17th century wing. The house and farm buildings were part of a complex attached to a large 16th/17th century mansion house demolished 1938.
