"A broad sinuous natural creek or channel [398] ran SE-NW the length of the site. A large dump deposit of mixed material [407] lay within the channel and contained 19th- to 20th-century metalwork and pottery, together with residual medieval and post-medieval material. Context [407] was probably intended to create a level bridging point across the old creek bed. It is likely that the dumped material derived from nearby Scotney Court Farm (pers. Comm. Simon Ashworth)". (1)

The finds also included six nineteenth to early twentieth century glass wine bottles, and " a rifle butt plate (RF <1>), a lock plate (RF <2>) and a large General Service tunic button (RF <3>). The GS button dates between the later 19th century and the 1920s. Other metalwork is of 19th to mid 20th century date." (1)
