Full Description
During 2006 Archaeology South-East carried out an archaeological watching brief during housing development and construction of a link road (Thistle Hill Way). While the housing development revealed no significant archaeological discoveries, the infrastructure development produced more evidence. These were a series of 4 cuts (cuts 104, 111, 114 and 115) forming a c. 6m crescent-shape alignment. These features also yielded fire-cracked flint, charocoal and worked flint. It is likely this formed part of a prehistoric land surface. C. 35 m to the north-east a second possible ditch was found (although it may have been natural). This contained no finds though. (1)
