Full Description

An evaluation at Two Chimneys Caravan Park in 2002 exposed two ditches of
Roman date in trenches 12 and 20.
One ditch contained four sherds of Roman Upchurch Ware of late first to mid second century date and probably represents a boundary ditch. A curvilinear ditch contained sherds of Roman native coarse wares and a single sherd of fine Roman sandy ware. These ditches are probably associated with
cropmarks nearby.
More detail is not currently available for this evaluation, as the report cannot be found on the KCC database or the Archaeological Data Service. However, monuments it found are referred to in the later 2016 Desk Based Assessment, also by Trust for Thanet Archaeology. [1]
