Full Description
Summarised from report:
Between 1860 and 1870 a stable was constructed (alongside a variety of other structures) on the rising ground to the south of the casemated barracks at the South Front Barracks. This was a long rectangular building housing horses both for the officers’ and for draught purposes. Later plans of this structure indicate that it retained this function until at least the first quarter of the 20th century. Today nothing remains above ground but the site is not built over. (1)
A plan of the whole barracks complex dating to 1898 shows the stables as a simple rectangular structure (2)
