Summary

Between 1860 and 1870 a stable was constructed (alongside a variety of other structures) on the rising ground to the south of the casemated barracks at the South Front Barracks. This was a long rectangular building housing horses both for the officers’ and for draught purposes. (location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information)
