Monument record TR 34 SW 2098 - Wood/Straw Store of the South Front Barracks, Western Heights, Dover
Summary
Between 1860 and 1870 a Wood and Straw store were constructed (alongside a variety of other structures) on the rising ground to the south of the casemated barracks at the South Front Barracks, though they had been demolished and replaced by 1903. They were likely of timber construction and were aligned north-east to south-west on the southern side of Citadel Road, between the bread and meat store and the waggon store, while the wood store was located immediately to the south of it.
