Abstract/Summary

Ordnance Survey 1:500 town plan of Dover, sheet Kent LXVIII.14.16: map showing South Front barracks and a nearby hospital. Surveyed 1858; engraved and originally published at the Ordnance Survey Office, Southampton, 1861; revised to 1881; this edition printed from a transfer to zinc, 1884. MS title: 'South Front Barracks Index to the Single Line Appropriation Plans': coloured MS additions form a graphic index to items (3-5); MS reference note on construction materials. Signed by Colonel Kirkwood (on the staff of the Commanding Royal Engineer, South-Eastern District), Dover, 22 April 1897. MS note, in coloured ink, on room reappropriation, dated May 1898.
