Summary
During an archaeological excavation undertaken by Canterbury Archaeological Trust in the St James area of Dover a Medieval cellar or undercroft was uncovered positioned between the former sites of St James’s Street and Clarence Street. Perhaps built during the fifteenth century, the cellar was constructed with substantial walls of mortared greensand. (location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information)
