Full Description
A late prehistoric pit was uncovered during construction of a block of flats in Broadstairs. The pit "had the physical characteristics often associated with Late Prehistoric features like those encountered in excavations in the wider area surrounding the site". "It could be that the pit is on the margins of an as yet undiscovered cluster of Late Prehistoric settlement, or that it reflects a sparser use of the landscape in the spaces away for the dense hilltop settlements encountered in the Bradstow School area." Some mussel shells and a burnt flint were found at the base of the pit. (1)
