Monument record TR 15 NW 2400 - Medieval quarry fills, 28 St Dunstan's Street, Canterbury

Summary

A probable quarry or quarries of medieval date covered most of the site. Part of the quarry near the corner with Roper Road was filled with probably kiln waste, although this need not have originated on the site. The presence of glazed peg-tile and broadly eleventh-/twelfth-century pottery in context 1059 (WS1) suggests a medieval date for the earliest of the quarry fills.
