Full Description
During an archaeological watching brief which was undertaken on pits for a new fence near Admiralty Lookout at Dover Castle, substantial brick remains relating to the former site of the Garrison Hospital were uncovered. It was located 0.2m below the ground level. The excavation caused only slight damage to what was clearly a large wall. A total of 0.25m of brickwork measuring approximately 0.23m square was removed. The wall is likely to be aligned north-west by south-east. (1)
