Monument record TR 34 SW 2569 - Former site of the Military Hospital, Dover Castle

Summary

The former site of the military hospital can be clearly seen on numerous plans of the castle, to the south of the Officers New Barracks. It was likley constructed at the same time as the barracks as part of a generous scheme of expansion and modernisation undertaken within the castle during and after the Crimean War (1853-1856).
