Building record TR 34 SW 2501 - C13th addition to Peverells Tower and Gateway, Outer Curtain, Dover Castle

Summary

Peverell’s tower marks the southern extent of King Johns defensive works (1199-1216) and is one in a series of early C13th towers located along the south western curtain wall. On the southern approach to the gateway is protected by a D-shaped tower built in the later C13th onto the eastern side, in a different masonry style and material. (location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information)
