Summary
A late 18th century well house is located within the middle bailey of Dover Castle, on the north western side of St. Marys Church. The castle garrison relied on wells for their water supply until the 19th century (when mains water became available). This was the largest of those and was sunk on the Palace green in the early 1790’s. (location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information)
