Summary

The building which is currently in use as a restaurant, located on the south western side of the inner bailey at Dover Castle, was originally constructed in 1756 as a canteen. It was entirely rebuilt in 1901 as a mobilisation storehouse. It was later converted into a gymnasium during the Second World War and then again in 1980 into its present use as a restaurant.
