A former Smock Mill may have been raised in about 1850. It was working until 1891 and demolished in about 1900. The mill is shown on the Tithe map, the 1862-75 and 1897-1900 maps.

An evaluation at the site in 2021 a series of walls (brick and concrete), a rectangular underground compartment – possibly a service bay for the mill’s mechanism, an area of hard standing, a concrete surface, and two pits one of which had a concrete base. One of the pits also contained a backfill of demolition debris including concrete fragments, possibly relating to the demolition of the mill prior to 1900. (4)
