Full Description
Excavation in advance of the Shorne to Farningham pipeline. The excavation discovered a Romano-British cemetery that included inhumations, cremations, pyres, post-/beam-built structures, holloways, ditches and pits. The work was not published except in interim form but the cemetery was clearly a rich cemetery and included temporary structures and finds of pottery, coins, brooches, nails, bracelets, complete vessels, skeletons and a stylus. The earliest phase of activity was a late bronze age / early iron age kiln.(1)
