Full Description
An archaeological evaluation carried out in 2011 found medieval deposits and finds and a later brick building in trench 2.
A thin layer of grey-green gritty-loam was organic in character and may represent an occupation horizon. This deposit was in turn sealed by a deposit of grey clay-loam containing fragments of peg-tile, oyster, animal bone, residual Roman pottery and a jug handle of thirteenth- to fourteenth-century date. Cutting into this deposit was the remains of a north-west to south-east red brick wall. This wall was of similarconstruction to those observed in trench 1.
